Being in a foreign country can make us feel like we’re losing our roots and make our children not want to speak our language outside the home.

This group in micro is for all English-speaking families who want their children to play and learn in English in a respectful space with Claire, a mom who seeks to create a community for her little ones in a cozy place as a meeting point where they can practice English and promote their autonomy thanks to the Montessori facilities at micro created by Maria.

In this English immersion setting, we will do activities, play games, sing songs, and of course play freely as we do every day at micro.

Hi! I’m Claire, an American who has lived in Málaga for the last 13 years and mom of two small kids.

I’m passionate about bilingualism and passing on my language and culture to my children. We all know how difficult it can be for our children to become fully fluent in English while living in Spain and know how frustrating it can be when they respond in Spanish to us. Using English with other kids their age is a great way to activate their language skills and get them excited about speaking English.

After searching for activity groups where my children could play with other native English-speaking children while learning and practicing English, I realized there were no spaces like this in Málaga. So, I decided to partner with micro – infantil and run it myself!

I have many years of experience teaching English to small children and am excited to facilitate these high-energy, play-based sessions. Every Friday, our children will have a chance to sing songs, hear nursery rhymes, play games, do a craft, and have some free play time with other kids who speak English at home. These are not formal English classes, but rather a chance for our children to interact, play, and practice English with peers. Come join us!
